Most of the planning and work that ILMS is able to complete is done through our committees. The dedicated participants of these committees allow us to provide quality services and events to our members and the Indiana lake community. Since ILMS is volunteer based, joining a committee is a great way to get more involved with ILMS. Indiana Lakes Management Society Committees

Conference: The conference committee is responsible for all items related to the annual conference. This includes identifying a conference location, contracting with a hotel for the conference, developing a conference theme and program appropriate for the region and lake and water quality related issues of that time, completing event registration, and identifying and securing exhibitors and conference sponsors. The conference committee typically meets the third Wednesday of every month at 9:15 AM EST.

Legislative: The Legislative Committee reviews and tracks Indiana House and Senate bills that may have positive or negative impacts on our Indiana lakes and waterway, listed on the Indiana General Assembly website throughout the session. The committee will keep the membership informed about the status of these bills via newsletter updates and e-mail blasts. The legislative committee typically meets the first Thursday every other month at 11:00 AM EST. 

Membership: The membership committee is responsible for maintaining and increasing ILMS membership and exposure for the betterment of maintaining and improving our lakes through knowledge.  They also work on enhancing membership benefits. The membership committee typically meets the first Thursday of every month at 10:00 AM EST.

Outreach: The Outreach Committee is responsible for fulfilling the mission of ILMS through providing education and resources to ILMS members.  This includes administering the following programs: webinars, workshops, scholarships, newsletters, and awards. The outreach committee typically meets the first Tuesday of every month at 9:30 AM EST.
